Who we are
GREAT VIEW FINANCE LIMITED is a money lending company based at Cosco Tower in Sheung Wan. We are not a bank — we take no deposits and hold no accounts. Money lending in Hong Kong is governed by the Money Lenders Ordinance (Cap. 163), which sets out licensing, disclosure duties and a statutory ceiling on interest.
Most of this website is about how the framework protects you, which is an unusual choice for a lender's homepage. The reasoning is straightforward: the borrowers who get hurt in this market are almost never hurt by licensed lenders following the rules. They are hurt by unlicensed operators and by intermediaries charging fees for something that should cost nothing.
Every borrower who knows how to check a register and refuses to pay an arrangement fee is a borrower who cannot be taken advantage of. That is bad for the people who prey on this market and neutral for us — which is why we are comfortable putting it on the front page.
A lender who discourages you from checking is telling you something. So is one who insists that you do.

Our lending
The structure follows the security and the purpose. What suits you depends on what you have and what the money is for.
Unsecured lending to individuals for a defined purpose and a defined term, assessed on your circumstances rather than a single score.
Lending secured by a charge over residential or commercial property, including second-charge facilities behind an existing bank mortgage.
Working capital for small companies and sole proprietors — inventory, payroll and the gap between invoicing and collection.
Replacing several obligations with one facility — where the total cost genuinely falls, which is worth checking carefully rather than assuming.
Short-term funding pending a property completion or an expected receipt, structured with a defined exit rather than an open end.
Restructuring an existing loan where the arithmetic supports it. Where it does not, we will show you why and leave it alone.
Protect yourself
Hong Kong's licensing framework works reasonably well. The damage in this market is done at the edges of it — by operators without a licence, and by intermediaries who position themselves between a borrower and a lender in order to extract a fee.
If you encounter any of the following, stop. Not "be cautious" — stop, and walk away. None of them has an innocent explanation.
A charge to "arrange", "process" or "guarantee" approval is not a legitimate cost
Or for your ID card, bank card or online banking credentials to be handed over
A genuine offer survives a night's sleep and a conversation with your family
You are entitled to a copy of the loan memorandum. No copy, no signature
How it works
What the money is for, what will repay it, and over what period. No cost to ask.
Your circumstances and any security, reviewed directly by us with no intermediary involved.
Amount, effective rate, schedule and total repayable, given to you to read before signing.
Funds released, with your copy of the loan documents in your hand.
Client feedback
Someone had already asked me for a fee to "process" an application elsewhere. Here I was told plainly that no such fee is legitimate, and shown how to search the register myself. That advice was worth more than the loan.
I asked to consolidate several debts and was shown, line by line, that the total cost would have gone up rather than down. They talked me out of their own product. I came back six months later for something that did make sense.
Our company needed funding faster than the bank could move and the shop was too small for them to bother with. The terms were set out in writing at the first meeting and did not change afterwards, which is all I ask of anyone.
